Leave No Cell Phone Behind

It’s easy to overlook important pieces of the off-boarding process when there is turnover.  Many field GM’s don’t realize the savings that can be found by simply terminating cell phone accounts that are no longer in use.

You may be thinking, “well I wish it were that easy, but we have 2 and 3 year contracts on our phones, which makes it very costly to terminate lines…”, however there is another option here that you may not know about.  Most carriers allow you to suspend a cell phone line for a minimal fee ($10 per month).

Putting someone responsible for this small off-boarding step could save big bucks!

Below are the current line suspension policies with the major cellular companies:

AT&T (Fee: $10 month) – https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1046747/  – Simply call 800.288.2020.  *Be sure to let them know that the phone will be unused during the suspension and that you are inquiring about the $10 per month suspension.

Sprint/T-Mobile (Fee: $10 month) – https://www.t-mobile.com/support/account/suspend-or-restore-your-line – You can suspend cellular lines via the online account page.

Verizon (Fee: $10 month) – https://www.verizon.com/articles/verizon-unlimited-plans/how-to-suspend-and-reconnect-your-verizon-wireless-service/ – You can suspend cellular lines via the online account page.  *However, with Verizon, you have a 90-day limit.  Your account will be reactivated after the 90 days.  You may suspend only one time every 12 months.*
